Losing September Interview with Bruce Fane

I first heard Losing September at Metal in the Mountains and was taken aback by their sound and stage presence. In fact, I liked them so much that I went ahead and purchased all of their music.

And then I had the pleasure to see them again at Rocktober at Pipestem, and because of my experience at the show, I talked with Bruce about an interview and so here we are.

In this interview, we talk about how the band got started with September 11 playing a part in the much clarity that was needed.

And if the music doesn’t catch you and get you inspired to your own path to freedom, we briefly talked about how one of the band members has been battling stage 4 lymphoma and still shows upbringing his best every time. I had shared with Nikolaos back in October that he very much reminded me of my kid – showing up no matter what, like no excuses.

Losing September

Losing September is a family, you can feel that the moment you step into their presence. I appreciate Brue sharing the story of how he and Larry met. You see Larry is deaf BUT he still plays music. In October, I saw him play cowbell and was thrilled by this and Bruce makes it very clear that Larry isn’t stupid. And that’s the thing I perhaps love about them, they break the stigma around various things like they are in your face with it but you won’t know unless you pay attention.

The songs speak for themselves too, we talk about the recent release of “Rise of the Loser” a personal favorite of mine and the song “Idiot” my kid’s favorite – meanings and purpose behind the songs are shared through our conversation.
