I wanted to give a little bit of insight on how I put together The Rebel Shine Summit in under a month. There’s no question that putting a summit together requires work – and in most cases giving yourself about 3 months to pull it off is reasonable and makes sense.
I on the other hand, tend to take immediate action on ideas and things that inspire me to make happen. Back in January 2018, I started writing my latest book and then had the brilliant idea to put on a summit.
Here’s the thing, sometimes you have to follow the crazy ideas that are coming to you, even if they aren’t in your original plan.
The second week of January, I announced I was looking for Speakers for the Rebel Shine Summit- you can access the summit here. I reached out to a few speakers I thought would be an amazing fit for the message, and they totally were. What I was not expecting was me being able to book 23 speakers with signed agreements in 3 days.
That’s the power of the message and taking action even if it feels crazy scary.
By the time promoting of the Summit arrived, I had 25 Speakers lined up and recorded all of them. Not only did I have the best time, but from a technical aspect, everything seemed to be aligned perfectly. Sure there were a few hang-ups but they were minor with little stress.
What have I learned?
You can totally create a Summit in less than 2 months if you are focused and take action. Sometimes even with your goals and plans all mapped out, detours become the next best thing because you get to stretch yourself in ways you haven’t thought about before.
But this is where the beauty of being a Rebel, Renegade or a Rule Breaker comes in. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want it.
You don’t have to wait – EVER!
What will I do differently?
The next time, I am giving myself a little bit more space for the interviews. Recording 3 interviews a day for 5 days was a little bit insane for this introvert. But it was worth every energy I spent on this.
What were some of my results?
In the end, without FB Ad’s, 160 people joined the Rebel Shine Summit. I am calling this a win! Even if only 20 people would have signed up, I would have felt ecstatic!
The feedback was amazing too!
The passion of the topics was flying and the conversations were “Rich and Rewarding” according to one listener!
