Photos give your website and blog a visual appeal and creating your own stock photos can be incredibly time-consuming if photography isn’t your thing.
Images grab people’s attention and when you are writing so people will actually read your content, you are going to need photos to make that happen. When you are first starting out, however, it can be challenging when you are on a tight budget and you want to keep your expenses for your blog at a minimum.
Sure, you could go to the nearest search engine and snag a picture, but not only is that unethical it is illegal. I don’t know how many times I had an inquiry to build a website and people send me pictures that they found on google and I needed to explain to them that this isn’t good for their business.

You can get images that are Creative Common Zero License, alas they are for public domain use and free from copyright and the need to give credit.

Pexels is one of the must-have sites, as they are often up to 50 new photos perfect for your website or new blog post.
UNSPLASH
This is by far one of my favorite website for images to use. Sometimes they have the rawest and realest picture when I am trying to purposely stay away from perfection.

Images in my inbox on the regular? Yes, please! Again another favorite and new pictures curated come straight into your mailbox for you to download.
There is no reason you can’t have amazing images for your website and blog and you don’t have to break the bank.
But using your own photos may be really your thing, and then use your own of course.
