Can I ask you something?
Do you feel nudges inside of you to act on an idea you’ve had mulling around in your head?
I like to call them sparks because you’re brain fired off an idea but there’s a connecting missing to get it going – kind of like when a care doesn’t start properly for the engine to start.
And just like when a car doesn’t make the connection properly and it needs to go to the mechanic, you too could use a little work so that all cylinders are a go so you can act on your idea.
Here’s what I know to be true:
The right time doesn’t really exist when it comes to you, your idea and taking action.
- That book isn’t going to write itself
- That business isn’t going to gain traction
- That relationship isn’t going to improve
But more than anything else your self-acceptance isn’t just going to show up even if you were too when you start doing what your soul calls you to do and your mind tells you it’s a brilliant idea.
Until 2007, I talked about that one day I would write a book about growing up in foster care and I did all the prep work. Created a timeline of important points I wanted to cover and then it just stood at a standstill. But then through the experience with my son and the recognition that life is too damn short, I wrote and published my book in 2009.
And every time I have a spark fire off, I remind myself that life’s too short and I owe it to myself to see where it goes!
Every dream, spark, and goal needs mindset work that includes:
- Self-awareness of where you are right now and who you are
- Self-acceptance and embracing yourself to the fullest
- The willingness to look at yourself from a different angle
I created this guide to help you get started on your journey because when you want to follow your spark, you have to start with yourself!
You owe it to yourself to explore you and see where those sparks lead you!
