Tribute to the Troops Benefit

For one-night local metal bands got together for a good cause! A tribute to the troops!

One the line-up was Rest Aside, Spiral Fracture, Royal Ocean, Rising Revolution, and New Caliber.

Rest Aside

It’s unclear to me why the event didn’t start at 4 pm as indicated on the event page but Rest Aside kicked it off at 5 pm and what a band. Even though I go to quite a few Richmond shows, I don’t know how I missed this metalcore band. I was able to snag an interview with them – check it out below.

Next up was Spiral Fracture and I can’t tell you how much I love this band and their music. There’s something that gets me when you add the heavy sounds of the drums, bass, and guitar combined with Amanda’s vocals. I interviewed them back in November when they were in Charlottesville, you can check that interview out here!

And I am sad to say I only caught a few moments of Rising Revolution because it was a school night for my youngest and it was already going well into the evening but from what I heard, the keyboard definitely sets them apart. You can go and check out their Facebook Page here!

Rising Revolution

And with that said, I didn’t see the rest of the bands because sometimes life calls and you have to adult a bit. But I do want to mention them so that you have the opportunity to check them out!

New Caliber is an alternative- metalcore band from the Richmond area. Rocking Hard since 2019. Click here for their Facebook Page!

I absolutely love that more heavy metal bands are coming out to host benefits like this one! A tribute to the troops is always a great way to raise awareness about some of the challenges soldiers are facing.
