Building relationships – Part of the Key to success

Get the latest news:

So, last Friday, I was hanging out on the futon, reading and just kind of getting lost in my book. At about 9 pm I received a text that said something along the lines of: “Got time in the morning to be on the air? 7:30 in the studio?”
Why yes, yes I do.
And even if I had something planned on a Saturday morning for some reason, I found have found a way to be there. Not only to help out my friend because that’s like a no-brainer but dude free airtime on the radio where I get to be center of attention for 10 minutes? Yes, please.
And then, Saturday morning rolled around and I was there at 7:25 and recorded this quick video. I believe that when we know that opportunities can show up at any moment, then they will. And it helps when you have relationships with people. I mean those relationships that matter – not the ones that feed your ego and are self-serving and one-sided.

But that wasn’t the only time during that week where I was reminded that relationships are pretty important – no matter your career choice.
Because my weekly accountability partner had just had her 3 days even and I was a surprise bonus for anyone that invested into her mentorship program.
It can be challenging to build relationships and yet it shouldn’t be. My accountability partner and I met in a program we both invest in and even though the accountability piece ended for us, we continue to meet, week after week and it’s really turned into an amazing friendship.
And my friend, the radio host? Well, I look forward to co-working where both are going to get some things done that have been neglected and/or work ahead so we can have more control over our time.
As much as we perhaps love to do things on our own, but the reality is that we don’t really do it all alone. There are people in your world that support you, even if they don’t do or say anything in the scheme of things. And then there are the people that do things that you never expected, like your services being the surprise bonus or being on a radio show.
