You can set goals anytime of the year, but nothing sets your year up doing it when another year comes to a close!
The challenge is that too many dreams flounder in your head and overwhelm creeps up.
And maybe you don’t feel like it’s the right time or do don’t know enough to make it happen.
Wishing and hoping only lead to heartache and realizing that at any point you could have turned your dream into a goal. And the great thing is that it’s never too late.
I have been there.
For years, I said I wanted to write books and I would “one day”.
For years, I said I wanted to sell my art and make money with it and was waiting for the right time.
For years, I said I would own my own business and I found myself making excuses of why I couldn’t do that.
I’m a mom and needed to take care of my kids. I needed to get out of debt. I needed to prioritize my job. I needed to pay attention to my family.
So many things going on and I couldn’t get of the proverbial hamster wheel of frustration!
And then, my youngest became ill and I realized that I was throwing every single excuse of why I couldn’t turn my dreams into goals and make them happen.
Because “a dream without a plan is just a wish” – Katherine Paterson. And frankly, wishing doesn’t get you anywhere!
