Talking with people about something that matters is like finding a drink in the desert

Caroline Banks

And that says it all about the interview I had with Caroline. And why I continue to enjoy The Rebels Den Interview Series.

The artist journey is not a calm ocean but often happens through the chaos in the storm. You lean into it, let go until you are able to find your footting once again.

Caroline’s work is based in London, and she exhibits regularly in the UK and internationally.

In our conversation, Caroline shares her story about falling in and out of love with creating art and finding her way to where she is today.

Her art is about emotion and through her travels she experienced an intensity of life that affected her deeply and became a reflective time for her personally and artistically.

And that is what art is: an emotion that is expressed through the paint as it is with Caroline – or with words – and sometimes through an idea and a thought takes hold. It becomes an extension as who you are as an artist and is often as essential as the air we breathe.

Caroline Banks goes to many exhibitions and shows and every now and again it’s the small parts of daily life occurrences that get her attention. Caroline maintains a one-minute blog of interesting things reflects the fact that although we are increasingly time-poor, there is creativity all around us. Be sure to check out her blog!
